How to store your caps between treatments? What to do in case of damage?
There was a time when the Canadian manufacturer Penguin Cold Caps strongly recommended keeping the caps in the freezer—especially during summer—to extend their lifespan. However, the material has since evolved, and recent testing has led to updated practices internationally. Today, it is no longer necessary to store the caps in the freezer. They can be kept at room temperature without compromising their effectiveness, as long as they are properly maintained between treatments.
After each treatment:
- Thoroughly dry the caps to prevent mold and preserve the integrity of the crylon gel.
- Lay them flat on a towel, and make sure to dry both sides completely before storing them.
In case of damage during treatment:
- Take a photo of the damaged cap, as well as a photo of the associated barcode.
- Email both images to: quebec@penguincoldcaps.ca
- Clearly identify the damaged cap. Never write directly on it—place it in a bag labeled “broken.”
- The Penguin Cold Caps team will get back to you quickly with a solution for returning the damaged equipment.
