Thanks to scalp cooling and the support of the Fondation Garde tes cheveux, I was able to retain approximately 30% of my hair during chemotherapy. This seemingly simple gesture had a profound impact on my well-being. Keeping part of my hair allowed me to preserve a more familiar and gentle image of myself during a time when everything was changing so quickly and felt overwhelming. It helped me recognize myself in the mirror, maintain my image in the eyes of my children, and face others with greater confidence. It gave me something to hold on to. Beyond the physical aspect, the psychological benefits are profound. It brings comfort, reduces the anxiety associated with the illness, and helps maintain a sense of self-worth that is essential to get through this experience. Although it was not an easy or restful experience, I would never have been able to get through this storm with such a strong mindset without this option. I held on to that hope so tightly. It is a precious form of support that truly makes a difference in the healing journey. Thank you to this foundation for existing. — Sandra
