I never could have done it without my husband. He was with me every step of the way—supporting, encouraging, helping. Every session was a team effort: his hands, my determination. And guess what? It worked. I kept my hair. Long, thick, full of life. Just like me.

In 2021, I lost my hair during chemotherapy. Even though I knew it was temporary, that loss hit me hard. It wasn’t just about appearance—it was about identity, control, and feeling like myself. So when the cancer came back, one thing was clear: I was not going to lose my hair again. This time, I wanted to hold on to that part of me. I wanted to hold my head high—literally. That’s why I chose to use the Penguin Cold Cap. For me, it was an investment in my dignity, my mental well-being… and my recovery too. But I never could have done it without my husband, who stood by me every step of the way. Every session was a team effort: his hands, my determination. And guess what? It worked. I kept my hair. Long, thick, full of life. Just like me. I’m sharing this photo taken after my treatments to show that yes—it is possible. That we can go through this and still hold on to a piece of normalcy, a piece of ourselves. And sometimes, a cold cap can make all the difference. — Evelyne Rousseau
