I could never have done it without my husband, who stood by me, supported me, encouraged me at every step. Each session was a team effort : him with his hands, me with my determination. And guess what? It worked. I kept my hair. Long, thick, alive. Just like me.
In 2021, I lost my hair during chemotherapy. And even though I knew it was temporary, that loss affected me deeply. It wasn’t just about appearance: it was a loss of identity, of control, of stability. So when the cancer came back, one thing was clear: I was not going to lose my hair a second time. This time, I wanted to hold on to that part of myself. To hold my head high — literally. That’s why I decided to use the Penguin Cold Cap. For me, it was an investment in my dignity, in my morale… and in my healing, too. But I could never have done it without my husband, who stood by me, supported me, encouraged me at every step. Each session was a team effort — him with his hands, me with my determination. And guess what? It worked. I kept my hair. Long, thick, alive. Just like me I’m sharing this photo, taken after my treatments, to show that yes — it’s possible. That we can go through this ordeal while preserving a little sense of normalcy, a little piece of ourselves. And that sometimes, a cold cap can make all the difference. - Evelyne Rousseau
