The cold caps changed everything for me. I finished treatment with all my hair. They worked 100% in my case. We followed the protocol to the minute. Today, I’m slowly getting back to life. The illness is behind me. I can finally look forward — and the future looks bright… especially with my hair!

Hello everyone, I finished my chemotherapy treatments on March 19, 2025… with all my hair! I knew I had to share my experience. When I first found out I had cancer, my world collapsed. I gave myself time to cry, to process the news — and then I switched into mission mode. I searched for positive stories from women who had gone through the same thing. It wasn’t easy, but eventually, I found them. One day, my sister texted me: “Go follow [https://www.instagram.com/megganrenaud/?hl=fr](Meggan Renaud) on Instagram. I think she has the same type of cancer as you, and she’s using a cold cap — she still has her hair.” I was floored. I watched all her videos in a single day — and rewatched them several times after that. I also discovered [https://www.instagram.com/uncancerencadeau/](Sophie Reis) on social media. These two women became my inspirations. They gave me the courage to try cold capping and to stay hopeful throughout treatment. I didn’t just want to survive — I wanted to keep living. And thanks to these two women and the cold caps, I did it. To all those who share their journeys: thank you. Without even knowing it, you help women like me. That support is so valuable. Anyone who knows me knows how important my hair is to me 😉 My children’s biggest fear was that I’d lose it. We explained to them that even with the cold cap, there was still a chance I might. My partner and my mother didn’t hesitate for a second — they jumped in with me. And together, we made it happen! I was proud to go out without people knowing I was sick. I went to my son’s hockey games, and except for our close friends, no one knew I was going through cancer. That was my pride. When I looked in the mirror, I didn’t just see illness. The cold caps changed everything for me. I finished treatment with all my hair. They worked 100% in my case. We followed the protocol to the minute. Today, I’m slowly getting back to life. The illness is behind me. I can finally look forward — and the future looks bright… especially with my hair! If you’re hesitating to use cold caps or recommend them — don’t. Go for it! Be gentle with yourselves… Thank you to the Garde tes cheveux Foundation — you truly make a difference in our lives. Mélanie
