I still remember the day I discovered the Garde tes cheveux Foundation’s website and its discussion group. I also remember the moment I finally joined. At the time, I was searching for photos of women undergoing the same protocol as me, just to see the results on their hair. I found it so hard to form a concrete idea about the cold capping method.

When I decided to give it a try, my oncologist discouraged me: “You know that hair loss is part of the side effects of TC…” But you know what? That phrase only motivated me 100 times more to try it and prove that it was possible. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained! Today, I’m so proud to have completed my 4 TC treatments every 21 days while keeping 60 to 70% of my hair. No bald spots, no patches… No one could tell I was undergoing chemotherapy! If you’re hesitant, I really encourage you to give it a try. Yes, it requires some organization, but only on the day of your chemo. Thanks to the Quebec team of Penguin Cold Caps, the manufacturer, and the Garde tes cheveux Community, I kept my morale high from beginning to end. I didn’t avoid mirrors or people. I’m infinitely grateful for making this choice!
