Sophie Truesdell-Ménard

Founder and President

Sophie Truesdell-Ménard is a legal professional and a committed businesswoman who wants to make a positive difference in each of her involvements, both professional and social. Sophie Truesdell-Ménard has been a lawyer since 2000, specializing in the construction field. A graduate of the Dispute Prevention and Resolution (“PRD”) program at the University of Sherbrooke (D.E.S.S.), in 2018 she launched her own practice offering PRD services, acting in particular as an accredited mediator, accredited arbitrator, expert consultant and trainer. An excellent speaker and popularizer, she regularly gives conferences and training to various industry stakeholders. She also teaches PRD to students in the graduate program in Business Law and Corporate Risk at the University of Sherbrooke. She is also part of the list of expert stakeholders authorized to act as part of the pilot project aimed at facilitating payments in the construction industry. Recognized for her expertise and her involvement in the industry, she is a fellow of the Canadian College of Lawyers in construction law, she chairs the Construction Sector Table of the Institut de Médiation et d'Arbitrage du Québec (IMAQ) and is part of the PRD Committee of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). It was in the wake of her diagnosis of breast cancer and her successful experience with scalp cooling caps during her chemotherapy that she founded Garde tes cheveux, to make this possibility known to as many people as possible. This is how she chooses to give meaning to this ordeal. Proud mother of two girls and a boy, her personal life is as hectic as her professional life. Always in search of new learning, she loves to travel, dance, sing, move, read, cook and chat with exciting people, to rethink the world together to make it better.
