Board of Directors

Marie-Claude Sarrazin

Vice-President

A Université de Montréal graduate called to the Bar in 2002, Marie-Claude Sarrazin has over 20 years of experience in disciplinary, civil and commercial litigation. Managing Partner at the Sarrazin+Plourde law firm, she also has recognized expertise in construction law. She is a seasoned litigator and favours innovative approaches to dispute resolution, seeking out creative and practical solutions to meet her clients’ needs and proposing alternative dispute resolution solutions. Ms. Sarrazin has served on numerous boards of directors and has a strong command of governance mechanisms in both the public and parapublic sectors. From 2018 until the spring of 2026, she chaired the Board of Directors of SOQUIJ, where she led a review of the organization’s governance mechanisms and risk management practices. She is also a founding member of the Institut québécois de la réforme du droit et de la justice (IQRDJ). Her contribution to the public debate surrounding the new Code of Civil Procedure is also noteworthy. A true leader in the transformation of the legal profession, she is actively involved with the Transformation de la profession committee of the Montreal Bar Association. Counsel to the Commission d'enquête sur la gestion de la modernisation des systèmes informatiques de la Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), her appointment reflects the recognition of her expertise in ethics and professional conduct, public procurement integrity, and the governance of complex and technical projects. Convinced that digital tools can foster better day-to-day collaboration, she proactively introduces new technologies to her colleagues, clients, and fellow legal professionals. Indeed, Sarrazin+Plourde has been a paperless firm for several years and has been pursuing its digital transformation since well before the pandemic.
